Breast Lift Procedure
This procedure involves the use of general anesthesia.
Once the anesthetic has taken effect, your surgeon will make the incision in the skin and remove the excess skin and tissue. The incisions are usually closed using dissolvable stitches. The operation lasts from two to three hours.
Most people who have had this type of procedure under general anesthetic will be able to leave hospital on the same or next day.
When you return home, you should rest and be extra careful for the first week. You should avoid any lifting, stretching or strenuous exercise for at least six weeks.
Recovery
You will be made to wear a pressure garment that resembles a sports bra for at least 4 - 6 weeks. This is to improve blood circulation, minimize swelling, flush potentially harmful fluids out of the body and support your new bustline.
Sleeping on the stomach should be avoided for at least two weeks. In fact, the proper sleeping position should be on your back propped up and somewhat elevated.
The first week is somewhat troublesome, with swelling and tenderness of the bust, but this resolves soon after.
